Beam helps to improve the lives of children, young people and adults with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and related disorders using the practice of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
Beam provides outcome-focused, evidenced-based, data-driven ABA therapy programmes at home, in schools and around the community. We work with children and young people across early intervention, school years, university years and transition years, to bring about meaningful and purposeful change in behaviour, enhancing the individual’s experience of the world.
We currently provide services in Greater London, Manchester, Birmingham and the South West (Bath, Bristol and Somerset) and are rolling out more locations across the UK.
Person-centred approach
From accepting referrals through to programme implementation and beyond, we take all the necessary steps to ensure we are ambitious in our goals and expectations.
We recognise and value the uniqueness of each individual and their varied support systems, and therefore our collaborative and multidisciplinary team approach all programmes with a person-centred approach.
We tailor all ABA programmes to suit each individual to ensure we provide the best possible service to reach the best possible outcomes.
Our clinical team
Our Behaviour Support Therapists (BSTs) are fully involved from the assessment process and programme delivery, and work closely with families, schools and other involved parties. All supervisors and BSTs are permanent staff at Beam and adhere to the Beam code of conduct.
We require our ABA supervisors (often referred to as consultants) to be qualified Board Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBA) and/or hold an MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis.
Our BSTs are enhanced DBS checked and receive full induction training. We are also early adopters of the BCAB Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) credential.
Beam ABA programmes
From initial assessment though to programme implementation, we consistently monitor progress and use data to guide our decisions. Using an evidenced-based, person-centred approach, our ABA therapy programmes are evaluated through ongoing coaching, feedback, goal setting and documented supervision.
We believe that no individual should miss out on a treatment with proven rates of success, therefore, our ABA programmes are all-inclusive and costed at an hourly rate.
Hourly rates include:
- Programme design and clinical oversight by a BCBA/MSc qualified supervisor. Typically, a supervisor will attend at least one session per week as well as having full oversight of real-time data and be in regular contact with the BST team
- Programme delivery by a fully vetted and quality assured BST (often referred to as an ABA tutor)
- Attendance to meetings with the team and third parties involved in care provision, data analysis, report writing and maintaining accurate records to CQC quality standards
- All staff training and development
- Travel expenses (up to 90 minutes) and travel time
Quality assured
Beam is regulated by the Care Quality Commission, and you can read our most recent CQC inspection report here.
