TG Escapes, provider of modular eco-buildings, have recently completed a timber-frame building for St Joseph’s that is net-zero in operation.
Our building for St Joseph’s
St Joseph’s Specialist Trust is an independent non-maintained specialist school and college, and a registered children’s home with two local adult supported living houses nearby. The St Joseph’s community consists of approximately 75 students at the school and college, 11 supported living tenants and almost 270 staff.
They cater for young people aged 5 – 19 with complex and severe learning difficulties, many of whom are on the Autistic Spectrum, and other associated difficulties. Their provision uses an embedded therapies approach and focuses on access to the community for all, irrespective of their challenges. They wanted to provide new classrooms and workshops for work skills and the wider community, with respectful consideration of the special needs that their young people have.
Modern construction with traditional materials
TG Escapes modular eco-buildings use modern methods of construction, traditional materials and sophisticated technology to create a standalone space that is net-zero in operation. They have provided over 800 buildings UK wide and were awarded Contractor of the Year at the 2021 Education Estates Awards.
