Since its inception in 2011, Sunken Trampolines has been working in association with Rebound Therapy.org across the UK.
We have worked with schools, care institutions, OTs and families. We provide safe and accessible trampolines for Rebound Therapy and recreational use, making this excellent platform available for all.
All of the benefits, none of the problems
Having a Sunken Trampoline offers all the benefits without the access and safety problems associated with above-ground trampolines.
The use of a trampoline for SEN is not new. It is widely accepted that they facilitate movement, promote balance, can increase or decrease muscle tone, as well as aid relaxation and sensory integration.
One issue is, however, that Rebound Therapy has, until recently, been the preserve of schools and care organisations. The cost of installing a Rebound Therapy trampoline at home has been a costly exercise, with only a small handful of trampoline models available to the home market.
New trampoline is ideal for families
Sunken Trampolines have worked with Rebound Therapy.org and manufacturers to add a new outdoor option for Rebound Therapy to their portfolio. The new 14′ by 10′ trampoline is ideally suited for therapy but also recreational use. This enables families to have an all-round family trampoline that is strong enough to have a user and two carers as well.
Unique lid system solves schools’ problem of lack of space
In schools, Sunken Trampolines have also developed a unique lid system. This enables the school to have their traditional above-ground trampoline in the floor of their sports hall, while being able to close the lid and continue with using the floor for everyday use.
Paul Kay from Rebound Therapy says: “An issue that all special needs schools have, if they do not have a purpose-built rebound room, is having enough hall time available to provide all the Rebound Therapy sessions they would like. Halls are used for dinners, PE and other lessons and so time on the trampoline is limited.” A Sunken Trampoline solves this issue.
