West Berkshire-based residential special school and autism training provider Prior’s Court will be hosting a series of TEACCH training courses for autism professionals and parents in the 2025/26 academic year.
Prior’s Court is a registered charity that provides education and residential care services to autistic young people with severe learning disabilities and complex needs. It is also a leading provider of training in the TEACCH methodology.
The TEACCH methodology
TEACCH is an evidence-based approach to learning, world-renowned for its effectiveness in supporting autistic people. It is at the very heart of Prior’s Court approach and the charity has strong links with the University of North Carolina, where TEACCH originated.
The TEACCH programme aims to enable autistic people to function as meaningfully and independently as possible in the community.
Three training courses are available
Prior’s Court has three courses available in the 2025/26 academic year:
- 3-day Structured Teaching course – Tuesday, 21 October to Thursday, 23 October, 2025
The 3-Day Structured Teaching course is a broad-based, intensive course for parents and professionals working with autistic individuals.
It provides both the theoretical and practical applications of Structured Teaching. - 5-day hands-on TEACCH Classroom Training course – Monday, 16 February to Friday, 20 February 2026. The UK’s only 5-day hands-on TEACCH classroom training course, led by a Clinical Director and the Director of Training from the TEACCH Autism Program, University of North Carolina. Alongside these guests, the course will be led by four TEACCH Advanced Consultants. All four consultants trained at Prior’s Court and continue to work together to share knowledge, working across different organisations, including Prior’s Court.
The 5-day hands-on TEACCH classroom training is a broad-based, intensive course for parents and professionals working with autistic individuals. Some of the autistic young people with learning disabilities and complex needs who Prior’s Court support will be assisting with the course as Co-Trainers.
Delegates must have completed the 3-day course to be eligible to attend.
- Beyond the Basics: Advanced Applications of TEACCH Principles and Practices – Monday, 9 February to Wednesday, 12 February
Designed as a continuation of professional development for those who have previously completed the 5-day hands-on TEACCH Classroom Training, this course explores advanced applications of Structured Teaching strategies. Participants will engage in a range of interactive sessions, including presentations, case studies, discussions, and group assignments, with the course led by two Directors from the TEACCH Autism Program, University of North Carolina.
