The winner of Best New Musical at the Olivier and WhatsOnStage Awards – Back to the Future The Musical – is welcoming audiences to Hill Valley for a relaxed performance on Sunday 9 March 2025, at 3.00 pm at the Adelphi Theatre.
When Marty McFly finds himself transported back to 1955 in a time machine built by the eccentric scientist Doc Brown, he accidentally changes the course of history.
Now he’s in a race against time to fix the present, escape the past and send himself… back to the future.
What is a relaxed performance?
Relaxed performances are specially adapted to be accessible to a wide range of audiences, such as those on the autism spectrum, those with a learning disability, or anyone with additional sensory needs.
Changes will include:
- Significant adjustments to sounds and lighting; however, there will still be parts of the show that generate 1.21 gigawatts of spectacle. Some of it will be loud and bright, and may still be challenging
- House lights will be kept on (but low) during the performance
- Building adjustments and chill-out zones around the theatre
- Trained and friendly staff, cast and theatre teams
- Relaxed theatre rules
- An invitation to come and go as you need, and enjoy the show
A visual story and sensory synopsis are also available to support your visit.
